GE is an History of Tradition & Excellence ( Inserire Immagini ) chiedi Eu alta risoluzione

Green Engineering history started in 1991 when the whole engineering department of Costruzioni Industriali Frilli, an historical name in the distillation field, was sold to a big italian group operating in the Oil&Gas field : the Camuzzi Group.

The new company, named Frilli Engineering, was acquired to be the "ethanol company" inside the petrochemical group. Beside the traditional field of the beverage alcohol , a new, pioneering and interesting field was introduced in the Frilli Engineering portfolio : the fuel ethanol field. Yet in 1991 our technical team, under the technical direction of Mr. Andrea Macchia (now President CEO of Green Engineering), realised the first italian bioethanol (fuel ethanol) plant based on the new technology of alcohol dehydration by molecular sieves. The plant was realised for I.M.A. and located in Trapani (Italy); with its capacity of 300.000 litres per day of 99.5% ethanol it's still one of the largest molecular sieves unit in Europe.

A strong research on alcohol dehydration by molecular sieves was carried on during successive years, also cooperating with University of Rome "La Sapienza" , and brought to the realisation of a computational model for the design of molsieves reactors.
In 1996 the company realised the first B.P. (British Petroleum) bioethanol (fuel ethanol) plant based on the molecular sieves ethanol dehydration technology. Located in Baglan Bay (UK) the plant was able to produce up to 70,000 litres per day of 99.9% ethanol for fuel blending.

Through continuous investment in research & development the company was able to reach important results in the beverage industry, becoming the only Italian engineering company capable to supply turn key ethanol plants for the production of Extra Neutral Alcohol according to the highest quality standards stated by UDV/DIAGEO for ENA.
Moreover , being part of a group operating in the petrochemical industry and with a management coming from pretochemical international companies, Frilli Engineering brought into the ethanol field a completely new approach to ethanol plants realisation, based on standard engineering procedures and on quality management.
